Samuil Velev is an artist whose practice focuses on painting as a means of exploring human character beyond physical form. His work seeks to express inner states through color, gesture, and painterly materiality. He graduated from an art high school specializing in painting and continued his studies at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. After an exchange at the Brera Academy in Milan, his practice developed toward more open and exploratory approaches.
Velev has participated in group exhibitions in Bulgaria and internationally, including in Prague, Berlin, Madrid, and Mexico City, as well as in art fairs such as Sofia Art Fair and Contemporary Art Now (Madrid). His projects often develop a dialogue between the human figure, its environment, and contemporary materiality.
